Word came down today that my car, a 1998 Civic, has a head gasket failure,
and since I can't afford a car payment, that means I have to sell my
beloved 2003 Honda Nighthawk 750 with about 27,500 miles on the odometer.

Before you shed a tear for me, don't feel too bad. I was thinking of
selling my baby already. I bought her to make her into a budget touring
bike, and I just haven't had time to ride her because I am too busy working
on a master's degree.

A few things to know:

I bought this bike used with 6,000 miles on the odometer several years
back, and I have kept up with the maintenance until recently. I change the
oil every 4,000 miles using synthetic oil. I recently replaced the spark
plugs and the chain is not new, but it it is in fairly new condition, with
a lot of miles before it needs replacing. It is an OEM sealed o-ring chain.

Throughout the time I've owned the bike, storing it with E-10 in the tank
has led to stuck floats in the carbs. They always come unstuck with fresh
fuel and some gentle riding, but I recommend the next owner get the carbs
cleaned and synchronized.

I've made several upgrades to the bike, and all accessories are included
with it. I have the stock seat and a Corbin seat. I have a small National
Cycle street shield for hot weather riding to keep the bugs off me, and I
have a National Cycle plexifairing for cold weather riding and long rides
that offers so much protection that I can duck behind it in the rain and
stay mostly dry. I have strap-on luggage (saddle bags and a back seat bag)
and I've installed engine guards on and highway pegs mounted on them. I
also installed a Fram Sure Drain valve in place of the oil drain plug to
make oil changes easy. I had special threads cut in order to install the
drain valve, so I suggest you leave it in. I installed a center stand and
Kuryakyn iso-grips, although the iso-grips never fit right. They are a
little shorter than the stock grips, but they're so comfortable that I
never got around to replacing them. It came with a sissy bar that I
removed and sold, so there are a couple slots cut out of the plastic body
at the back of the seat, but they're aren't very noticeable. I got tired
of kicking the sissy bar every time I mounted the bike.

I'm asking $2,500 for the bike and all accessories and I live in Vero
Beach, FL. If you would like more info, please send an e-mail to me at
[email protected].

I sold my last bike in Craig's List, but I thought I would post this one
here first, giving you guys a shot in the hope that it lands with a true
Nighhawk lover. If it doesn't sell in a week or two, I'll post a Craig's
List ad. If I get time, I will post pictures here later today.
