I bought my 83 about 3 years ago and the previous owner warned me "these are notorious for destroying batteries". I replaced the wet battery with a sealed one, and kept it on a trickle charger if I wasn't riding for a week or more. The sealed batter lasted 1 year and 6 months, before it would no longer hold a charge. Has anyone had better luck with a specific battery or mods to get your batteries to last longer?
