I had a bad solenoid on one of my Magnas. I believe the bike's headlight went out when I hit the starter button, but that was all. I touched a battery directly to the starter motor with jumper cables and it turned over, so I knew it wasn't the starter motor. I swapped out the solenoid with one from a parts bike I bought and it fired right up. "Your mileage may vary."
