Shafts are heavy and not as direct power as a chain. This is new and Scott oiler is the market leader (from UK and the North USA/Canada): but it is real complicated too, more expensive (components - $$$), and does not have the high tech grease. I see a lot of people use WD 40 and other oils/grease but they will accumulate grease. If you find something better, let me know and I may be interested. Chameleon seemed like a relatively new product, and from just using it a few days so far, it works like they said and no grease residue (CLEANING) which may be the big difference between the Scott oiler, due to the high tech grease AND the mechanism MADE for it. It just lays a 2" line every 3.5 minutes approximately on your chain right before it goes on the rear sprocket. It has a dispenser, an electronic activator hooked to the rear brake for power, and a long thick tube for the oil. It's simple, high tech (grease), and convenient: 4k miles, NO cleaning, virtually no adjusting, and no new chains. The NO cleaning or residue build up and simplicity is what I saw as the difference. $140 includes the first 4K miles of grease/lube, and there is no up to $20/week on lube solvent which would be on all oilers. The cleanliness and lack of maintenance made my mechanic see dollar signs floating away. Now it really is a mean clean machine :-) I got oem (rubber front and rear) sprockets, cleaned BOTH front and back spotless, and got a new red EK chain. EK chains are the favorite for high mileage on the Suzuki Hayabusa forums, so that was good enough for me. So far, so good! I just went through a chain in 7k miles (small 520 size) probably due to not aligning chain. FTS! I did everything I could to make the drive rock solid and the chain is very well constructed compared to any other I've seen. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
