Kyle, I do in fact remember walking into a Honda dealer in 1984 and seeing 
them both. For me, the 650 was the winner, hands down. I wanted a 
Windjammer with a decent windshield, a set of highway pegs, a sissy bar, 
and a luggage rack for trips. The 700S looked boxy to me, and its paint had 
no depth. On top of that, the exhaust pipes were painted. My reaction was, 
"Yuck." I thought the designers had lost their way.

When I joined this group, I noticed that people seemed to be enamored of 
the 700S. I couldn't understand it.  Now, after 5 or 6 years of listening 
to people talk affectionately about them.....I still can't understand it. 
Sorry. But, as someone once said, although I personally disagree with your 
opinion, I'll defend to the death your right to have it! There is no 
accounting for taste. A 1983 in the wineberry color has been on my bucket 
list for a while. A 700S, well, not yet.
