No, you should be able to replace them with the exhaust on. Allen and I did
it on my 96 750. I will say though, I do remember seeing something
different in the exhaust of Graham's 2003 when compared to mine, but I
can't remember what it was (maybe the pipes were actually shorter in the
newer models?). There is no much room, but it can be done.
