Paul, actually I don't have the exact same windshield as you. I have the
National Cycle Plexifairing 3. It seems to extend down a little lower than
your model. You can find it here:

You will notice that they actually have it pictured on a Nighthawk. I
bought it because I thought it was the biggest windshield available for the
Nighthawk. Originally, I mounted it so that I looked over it, but then I
tweaked it so that I look through it. The wind stream sails over my head,
so the only buffeting I get is from the road below, especially if I have my
feet up on the highway pegs and the wind travels up my leg. Used to drive
me crazy with my 3/4 helmet, but acceptable now with my modular helmet
owing to the under-chin protection.

About the hardware, at first I preferred the hardware on my Slipstreamer 2
because the support arms screw into the hardware that goes through the
windshield. The NC, by contrast, was supposed to friction in, and I
couldn't for the life of my get the ball end to go all the way and settle
in. So the darn arm used to pop out. I finally reemed out the hole a
little, greased the ball end, and got it to pop in. Now I realize it is
actually better frictioning in, because if I ever go over the handlebars,
it would be better if the windshield gave way than held its ground, I
think. Hope I never find out.

Anyway, bottom line, I can recommend the NC PF3.
