Glenn, That sounds like a fantastic trip, I hope you don't get any more scares like that and that you return safe and sound.
I don't think that Yamaha is sold in the US. It looks quite a lot like the Suzuki v-strom. What yamaha is selling this year in the US is the FJ-09, which I've seen in a couple of dealerships and just looks fantastic ( https://rideayamaha.yamahamotorsports.com/2016/FJ-09).
