I'm going to chime in on this. About a month back I dumped my cbr in a sand patch coming up to a stop sign. I did a superman over the handlebars, but between my duty pistol and the kydex holster on my hip and my training I walked away with a small scrape on my Palm and a few scratches on the holster (wore a hole through my favorite shirt)... to this day I claim that the holster prevented road rash and possibly bruising and broken bones...
