This past February (I think it was) we bought a Honda Elite 110 scooter and yesterday my wife took and passed her motorcycle permit test. So last evening we drove all over town. When we got home she looked at me and smiled and said, "I think I finally get why you like this so much!" :) (This is a woman who has ridden on the BACK of my bikes for the past 38 years.)
Here's a geographical note about permits in our State: Oregon considers the term "*scooter*" to essentially mean "a small motorcycle." The only kinds of two wheeled motorized categories (as far as Oregon is concerned) are mopeds and motorcycles. A moped is ANY bike under 50cc (scooter or otherwise) and a motorcycle is any bike OVER 50cc's. So, since my wife's Honda is 110cc's she is riding a motorcycle (as least as Oregon sees it for licensing purposes). That means her permit AND eventual endorsement will entitle her to ride ANY size motorcycle. (She's already talking about buying my son's Nighthawk 750!!!) Sheesh!
