Your problem is not a charging problem. So stator, rectifier, etc: ignore those parts for the moment.

Also the starter has always cranked normally after the bike dies, and the battery seems ok. I hooked up my multimeter to the charger and it read about 5.5 ohms. So i am lead to believe that the charging system up to the battery is ok. Am i correct in thinking this?? I haven't tested the coils or CDI box yet as i am not quite sure how.
