"Snowflakes" -- now that's funny. And the suggestion about the dealer is good and I agree. Alas, the economics of motorcycles is poor in the US, and dealers in my experience charge retail prices for everything.
On www.hondaparts-direct.com there was a helpful VIN range for the Code A and Code AC -- turns out mine is Code A, and that tank for some reason in about $25 more. I was just about to click "Buy", and noted they had added a $60 shipping charge. Checking the same part on Bike Bandit, the part was $15 more, and they tacked on $7 "oversized item" shipping surcharge, so I went with that. Thank you all. Wish you all the best.
