Roger, The seat is removed by inserting the key in the "Helmet holder" slot on the side just below the seat....... pull level back just behind where you inserted the key and pull up on the seat.
Next remove the black aluminum grab bar (four screws) >From there I think that the back compartment comes out with just two more screws. Good luck.
