I did, actually, meet this guy. I bought a box of parts from him. He is a veteran, fought in Vietnam, scars to prove it, etc. We had lunch together and he shared other stories that were very interesting but not far fetched at all. I do believe him. He even called me to apologize for selling the one crated bike he sold (if I remember correctly) because the buyer asked first and he got a good price for it. He gave the other to his grandson. He doesn’t need me to defend him, and nor could I, but I think he was being honest. If not, he is a fantastic liar. Really enjoyed chatting with him and we did stay in touch for years. Now we have not spoken in awhile and I can’t even remember his name. When I see it on the box in which the parts came, well...that reminds me and I sometimes email him.
