So I am in the process of getting my 83 650 rebuilt, been a project and was
my father in laws old bike, so I figured it would be worthwhile to get back
running.
After rebuilding the carbs a friend and I used an aux. gravity fed fuel
tank to shake down the motor and carbs. Bike fired up beautifully and ran
great.
I put my tank on with vacuum petcock and it won't start, spray a bit of
fuel in the carbs and it finally starts, but only when choked up.
Vacuum line is going to the carb, I tested the vacuum and it has a reading
of 10 lbs. or however you measure vacuum.
I pull tank back off and just run a funnel directly to fuel line to
carbs... and voila. Fires up beautifully again.
I am assuming its an issue with the vacuum petcock.
The petcock is brand new.
Long story short-ish, does anyone know where I can find a gravity fed fuel
petcock?
Or is it worthwhile to try and rebuild my original petcock?
Any input is greatly appreciated.
