Please don't disown me, but I sold my last connection to this forum.
I had a 1983 550 NH. I learned a few things from this place, and I
contributed a few comments.

Last year I missed the buying season, so it sat in the middle of my shop
waiting for an ever-increasing number of fix-ups. It needed a pair of watch
crystals, fork seals, new battery (by that time), those irritating cam bore
end plugs etc.
I had tried powder coating the valve cover and the new gasket needed
installed. By the time I did all this, of course it needed its carbs all
cleaned out. Fortunately I did not need to re-sync the carbs.

When I got it all done I wrote up a modest overview and gave the photos to
my wife to put up for sale. She is the online buying-selling genius on our
house. I just wanted the minimum for it, after all, there are 43k miles on
it, but my wife said we would start at $1200. I said, OK, (shrug).

I was so surprised when some guy called, looked at it, asked a few
questions, listened to it start and run, waited around for his bank to
open, did not even ride it, then paid full price.
My wife told him that we would deliver it (10 miles across town), if he
paid full price. (She is no dummy.)

She says there were other people asking earnestly about it. The guy who did
buy it let on that he had a few properties and he used them to store
vehicles, probably nice ones. He told me he wanted it to ride as nostalgic,
but bought the collectors plate at the DMV office.

*ANYWAY...*
So that's it. I'm kinda out. I hope you will not think any less of me.

If I can find the good copies of the pictures I'll get them.
