Unless they are completely clogged, seafoam may work to kick it loose. There
are ways to prevent the gumming up, I drain the carbs and line completely at
the end of riding season, no fuel in lines or carbs, means no fuel to gum up.
You can clean the carbs and then allow the same issue to reoccur the next fall
if you don't take preventative measures. I've made it eight years so far
without touching my carbs. YMMV

I second this, there's no point in only cleaning 2 of the 4.

Yes, I have done it but it’s better to remove carbs and clean them all, besides
they all probably need cleaning, not just the outer two.

Seems like the consensus is clogged slow Jets. Do you think I could drop the
bowls for the outer 2 carbs while they're on the bike? I have an angled
screwdriver to reach the inner screws.

Agree with above. Your slow jets are clogged. When you use choke you dump extra
fuel in carbs. With out it, you rely only on slow jet to idle and to about 1/4
turn of throttle. Clean them good. Not hard to do.

choke on and revs only with choke on then carbs need cleaning. Has bike been
sitting for long time? The fact that it only idles with choke on tells me carbs
need cleaning

I would suggest looking at the breather boots where they join the air breather
box. I sealed mine. I'm a recent Nighthawk owner myself. If that's not the
issue maybe adjust the butterflies

Hey all, just want to confirm that if my bike idles only with choke, but revs
properly with all cylinders firing, my issue is most likely in the carbs and
not anything in the ignition? Are there any areas known to leak vacuum on 92-03
Nighthawk 750s?Thanks,Daniel
