Here’s a new one. I have an 86 700S with about 4,000 miles on it. I’ve kept it
running over winter but the last time I tried to start it, no response. So,
tonight I took the carbs off and gas poured out from the airbox. I pulled the
plug underneath and more than a gallon came out. I’ve never seen this happen
before on a Honda. I saw it once on a Suzuki GS550E that had been sitting for
years.
So gas has been flowing from the gas tank, through the pet cock (turned off),
into the carbs and then back through the carbs into the airbox.
Anyone else ever encountered this?
