Any Maxim owners out there? I have an 81 XJ650. When I first got it as a non running bike, I cleaned the carbs and did everything else to get the bike roadworthy. My first ride lasted about two miles before the bike quit with fouled plugs. Compression is good, plugs have spark, new air filter and so I completely rebuilt the carbs, every removable part I replaced, synched and yet the plugs still carbon up till the bike stops running. Anybody have a Maxim and experienced similar problem? I can’t see it being the carbs with the rebuild. Is it possible the spark can be weak and cause this? Graham
