Honda is known for keeping paint codes secret. They want you to buy from their sources. If you buy the candy color from Honda you have to buy their catalyst and reducer with the color, not to mention the silver under coat.
I painted my 82 Nighthawk with Candy Apple Red instead of buying from Honda. If you paint - be aware that it is a 5 step process and must be done "wet on wet on wet." primer, sealer, silver, color then clear coat. A few dealers - especially older shops will have the color codes, and still, it must be purchased from Honda. Les Mc.
