Hi Jenya,
The commutator, the part the brushes contact, needs to be turned to extend 
the brush life.  Also, excessive clearance between shaft and bushing will 
contribute to shortening the brush life.  Take it to a reputable local 
electric motor shop and have the armature turned and replace the bushing on 
the same end along with replacing the brushes.  This in addition to making 
sure the engine is in good tune will enable the starter to live for many 
years.
