30mm Keihin carburetors

The bike was running about 10 years ago. It has been sitting in my shed all 
that time. I had a friend clean the carbs. I cleaned the tank and filled it 
with fresh fuel. I purchased a new battery. At first I had no power. 
Cleaned the contact at the starter and the electrical came on. The bike 
starts and runs now but runs rough. I checked the muffler pipes where they 
exit the head and the pipe on the right side is not hot. I can hold on to 
it.  The pipe on the left is too hot to touch.

I pulled the plug on both sides, connected the plug to the plug wire and 
set the plugs against the cylinder head while I cranked the engine. Both 
plugs had spark, the plug on the left may have had a stronger spark. Since 
I have two bikes, I tried swapping plugs and even carburetors from the 
other bike. There was no change in performance. When I had the plugs out of 
the bike and cranking the engine, both cylinders seem to have comparable 
pressure based on the air coming from the spark plug holes.

Since the bike was sitting in a non-temp controlled metal shed in Alaska 
and the contact to the starter was so corroded I had no power to begin with 
and that I have tried two sets of carburetors and the bike has less than 
1000 original miles, I think (hope) the problem is electrical and not the 
cylinder or carburetor.

Does anyone have a suggestion?
