Hello fellow programmers. I have a question if it is ok to ask. There is a lot
of these studies regarding the popularity and growth of different programming
languages. It seems languages like Rust and Dart are becoming quickly more
popular and used. Considering Nim IMHO is what you get when C and Python has a
child, there should be many people eager to learn and use it. Much more
pleasant to use than the alternatives. Is Nim on the rise? Does it get more
exposure? I just accidently came across it a couple of years ago looking up
languages on Wikipedia(otherwise I had not even heard of it). Does Nim need a
"Killer App" to become mainstream(like it deserves)? Python seems to be growing
because of Data science and Artificial Intelligence. What are the possible
areas where it would really shine except for 3D games, video editors, photo
manipulation and other things where C++ are used? Maybe close integration to
Web Assembly? Now I am a total beginner in programming IMO, so I would like to
know what you advanced and expert programmers think about the possible domains
where Nim really would be: Easier to use(everything is easy in Nim compared to
C++), faster to develop, easier to recruit programmers, good support for
multithreading and so on? Maybe an IDE with GUI tools like Smalltalk for quick
prototyping? Thanks for any answers, this forum is excellent.
