Wow, these were some fantastic posts. Just great discussions. Personally when I have been learning a little bit here and there of different languages, I have found that for me the amount of tutorials and documentation that is easy to understand is the most important factor. When I am in trouble and have been trying to figure out something but I can't, I always go and google the error message. Or search for "how to sort an array/list", or "how to make gui application in x language". kiloneie has some incredibly well made and explained tutorials on youtube. They are practical and even possible to understand for people that have never been doing any coding before. What keeps me using Python for most of the time is 95% because of the ease of accessing solutions to the problems. For instance the book Nim in action is great, but once it goes past the beginner stuff I was really struggling to follow it.
