Help with Gui programming in for a beginner

I'm relatively new to Nim and I'm looking at it as a language I could program 
gui applications in, as far as I can tell there is an official ui library for 
Nim but it hasn't had an update in a year and has little to no documentation. I 
have found some nice looking third party ones but can't decide if I should 
stick with the nim-lang/ui library or something else. Also is Nim-lang/ui even 
still in development?
