Twitter's gotten a substantially better UI in the form of <https://github.com/zedeus/nitter> , which you can run locally or from a private server, and which is written in Nim. It's good! None of the fediverse frontends are nearly as good.
There's also a lot of drama that you could've had fun following for the last year, and which won't be nearly as entertaining if it's explained to you now, such as 1. Elon Musk wanting to buy it in the first place 2. Elon Musk wanting to back out of buying over Twitter's bot problem, and getting sued 3. Elon Musk buying it after all 4. Elon Musk firing thousands of people for various entertaining reasons, such as "for cause" firings of some of the old leadership 5. Elon Musk unsuspending Trump by twitter poll, and also promising to turn the CEO position over to someone else by twitter poll 6. Elon Musk dumping lots of unearthed bad behavior by prior Twitter and the US government - selling blue checks for tens of thousands of dollars, actually doing all of the shadowbanning that they testified to Congress that they didn't do, coordinating censorship with various governmental actors, etc. 7. Various _extremely sincere_ complaints about Twitter suddenly becoming danger to the most vulnerable people in the world, to civilization, to humanity's future treatment when aliens enslave the Earth, etc. If you wait a few years I'm sure there will be multiple 2 hour Youtube videos about it, and you can pick your poison from those.
