What's stopping Nim from going mainstream? (And how to fix it?)

while I can understand how good Nim is good as-is, I also can share the 
experience of a couple of expert programmers dropping it in a day just for 
seeing it "brittle" IDE/debugging side "which reflects overall language 
potential" according to their personal opinion (that I don't share).
