AI is not intelligence. The way to frame AI is to think of it as a global-scale plagiarism machine (credit Chomsky); a super efficient compression algorithm.
What is happening now is that the mega-tech globo-corps are using it to acquire, store and organize vast amounts of information that they can possess and control. As we all know, information is power. The real danger is that humans may misconceive what is really going on as "intelligence" when it's not. This could lead to untold disaster and destruction. As an example, look at how many lives have been destroyed by humans placing trust in "self-driving" cars. These human misconceptions will include the C-Suite class too, many of whom have little wisdom but lots of greed. Very dangerous.
