Basic was probably one of the most influencing factors for us all sit in front of computers. C is also a pretty simple language, as is Javascript. There is nothing wrong with keeping stuff simple.
Nim kinda suffers from feature creep for a long time. You can call it experimenting though. Considering it was case insensitive in the past with letters for identifying types and objects vs references it has come a long way already in my eyes. I think there are no real pros for the current identifies comparison rules. But it will not rip the language apart either. Neither way eliminates the need for rules in a team. Having great tooling also helps. I just don't think that Nim can expect that the world will be changed because of it. And changing it WILL break a lot of code... I don't even think that this could be done without harm to Nim.
