I haven't had any problems with any of my Nisus versions, but I still use an old (old, old, old) copy of Lotus 1-2-3 for the Mac that I installed in December of 1991. It won't start up at all under Mac Classic. It still works fine, however, under MacOS 9.2 when so booted.

Some of us will go to great lengths to avoid some companies' software.

Forget OS X if you are using Nisus Writer 6 or earlier.
Are you speaking from experience? I have not yet discovered an old application that will not run, usually quite happily, in Classic and I have applications going back to 1983. The dongled versions would be a problem, of course.
