Mail.app has improved steadily (since it shipped with 10.0), but it still has some design flaws that I've learned to live with, but Junk Mail (spam) filter isn't one of them. I spent about 1 month training Junk and still check the Junk Mail box about twice a week. I would say that it easily gets about 90% of my spam, maybe a little more and maybe about twice a month it mistakes legitimate mail as spam. Seeing, I get about 90-100 email/day, that's not bad. Just my 2� worth.
