I heard a suggestion that you have a searchable database on the desktop in lieu of the address book. It sounds as if what you are suggesting will work. Paste a text file into the To or BCC fields. Next question, will your isp flag you as a potential spammer? Some set really low limits on the number of addresses per mail.
Unless MacLink Plus can convert the address book into something else, sounds like cut and paste time. Yuck.
