As a writer, I don't want ANY censoring. If I need to find a synonym for the most disgusting word in the language, I need it. Period. Evidently I can just keep the filtering turned off. But, most importantly, at what point does someone capriciously decide to make it integral to the program? Or just delete those words from the Thesaurus entirely so the search just comes up empty? My vote is to get rid of the filter entirely.
As an aside, I just noticed that my Mac version of Eudora is flagging three of the above epithets as "misspelled" words (except for "whop"). At least *it* thinks "polack" is a slur! And Qualcomm is about to get a similar note from me-- unlike Nisus Thesaurus, I PAID for Eudora-- they have no right to do this, offensive as the words may be. Now I'm wondering how many online/computer-based thesauri/dictionaries/encyclopedias etc. have this problem...
