Perhaps we need some runtime monitoring on the builds of NixOS, to ensure that Nix systems are deterministic, this feature/selling-point is what got me hooked on NixOS.

        With some help on IRC, the mystery was solved. The default
        route was not
        being set so after switch I had to manually run ‘systemctl restart
        network-setup’, which the switch should have done itself.
