I believe that setting LD_* variables is not a good way to pass dependencies to configure scripts (I have no idea why that should work at all). There are compiler/linker flags (C/C++), pkgconfig search paths, and maybe something else for erlang.
However, I don't know if myEnvFun exports these. nix-shell should do that, I think.
