Thank you, Eelco, for continually holding the vigil over your baby, on
behalf of the rest of us!
Thanks also to all the other maintainers, putting their time and energy in!

So the branch has been uncreated (and still is as of now).
For my understanding and the benefit of other contributors only following
peripherally: The reverts you talked about were about a new style of
package flags, that had been rushed in without sufficient discussion
(mkFlag, ...) as well as a performance regression?

# As far as I understand

- you reverted commits related to the package flags
- the perf issue has been bisected to a commit related to KDE, with a
shortly impending fix likely https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/issues/3594
- there has been a premature merge that delayed hydra
- the gcc 4.9 pr is still open https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/7738,
I guess the reason to be related to the previously triggered hydra rebuild
- I couldn't find tickets specific to systemd 220 and nix 1.9

# What I'd like to know

- are there any other tickets / pending reverts that I missed, which should
be settled before branching off the release?
- will there be an unstable-channel update to the merge base for the
relase, i.e. has hydra caught up yet?
- is there a chance, still, to legit call the release 15.06? ;)

kind regards
