I often have a problem where a library is not available during compilation, usually Haskell. The standard answer is to start 'nix-shell -p zlib' and proceed. Is there a way to have them in my standard environment? This occurs both on OSX and NixOS even when i have those packages installed (either via nixos-rebuild or nix-env). I am also using zsh.
