Hello

I am new to the system NLopt, and I'm trying to create an API for TOL, an
open source language for statistics created by me (https:/ /
www-tol-project.org). Of course, I will cite their contribution in our
acknowledgments page (https:/ /www.tol-project.org/wiki/TolAcknowledgements
).

I'm using the C + + API of nlopt and the biggest problem for me is that the
error messages are not sufficiently informative. For example, the error
message "nlopt invalid argument" does not help me to know which of arguments
is the wrong one, nor what is the reason. Is there any way to get more
details on what is failing in order to help the user to fix the problem by
himself?

Another problem is that I'm not finding examples of the use of optimizers
AUGLAG subsidiary. For example, to global searches with equality and
inequality constraints and unknown gradient, what would be the right
combination of methods?.

Thank you for your attention.
Yours sincerely.
