Thanks a lot for providing this great optimization library. One question that I have is if there is a certain reason that gradients are computed in the MMA inner iterations. According to the 2001 Svanberg paper A CLASS OF GLOBALLY CONVERGENT OPTIMIZATION METHODS BASED ON CONSERVATIVE CONVEX SEPARABLE APPROXIMATIONS, only outer iterations require computations of gradients?
