Hello again,

After googling around a bit, I realized this may be a problem with
optimization. After a bit of work, I discovered that /O1 (minimize size)
resulted in a successful Release build.

Hoping this will be useful,
Dale Smith

Subject: [NLopt-discuss] Problem building cobyla with Visual Studio 2013 in x64
platform

Hello,

I have a problem to report building the above module in the Release
configuration - Debug works just fine. I'm using Windows 7 x64 and VS 2013 x64.
I used cmake to generate the solution and project files, then built as I have
done before. Cleaning and rebuilding does not help.

The error message is

c:\tools\nlopt-2.4.1\cobyla\cobyla.c(1503): fatal error C1001: An internal
error has occurred in the compiler.
  (compiler file 'f:\dd\vctools\compiler\utc\src\p2\main.c', line 228)
To work around this problem, try simplifying or changing the program near
the locations listed above.
Please choose the Technical Support command on the Visual C++
Help menu, or open the Technical Support help file for more information

If anyone has further information on this problem, please let me know. I'm
actively working on it.

I also have to define _USE_MATH_DEFINES in Properties | Configuration
Properties | C/C++ | Preprocessor after running cmake in order to avoid
collisions with M_PI between cmath and math.h. I think this is a VS 2013
problem.
