I'm very happy to report that we have two new members of the NLP at UMD group this year. Both are new graduate students just entering our MS program in Computer Science.
Anagha Kulkarni is now working with me as a Research Assistant, and is getting started by doing a few name discrimination experiments with SenseClusters. We are still working out a longer term plan, and you'll certainly here about that as it develops. Anagha has a web page up now with a bit more information information about herself. Find that at : http://www.d.umn.edu/~kulka020/ Then, just in the last few days I have been pleased to learn that Apurva Padhye will also join our group, and work with me as a thesis student. We are really just getting started (first met yesterday!) so as yet nothing much to report, but we'll keep you posted. So, we remain a group of 5 this year. There's me, returning students Jason and Prath, and our new students Anagha and Apurva. Welcome one and all!
