Good news! Sourceforge is upgrading. The list their old and new configurations below, and it's sort of interesting (I think) to see what's behind the Sourceforge site. Note that they are moving from an ancient version of Perl to a pretty new one (5.8.3). They have also upgraded to Apache 2.0. That's good news in the event we try to run Perl things (especially CGI) from the sourceforge site (in other words, from our project web pages, like http://google-hack.sourceforge.net, etc. I don't think we are doing that now, but it's something we have considered in the past. In any case, some of you are planning to run web services on talisker and marimba - that should be fine. I wouldn't suggest changing plans because of this upgrade. Also, note that they are announcing the intention to upgrade, not the actual upgrade, so it still could be a while. Just FYI. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Mon, 25 Oct 2004 10:47:33 -0700 (PDT) From: SourceForge.net Team <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: SourceForge.net PR-Web Upgrade Notice.
