Sorry for the short notice, but we won't be having our group meeting on Thursday Feb 10 (tomorrow!). We'll reschedule Apurva's presenation for a little later in the semester. Also remember that I will be out of town text week (Feb 14-18). In fact, I will leave on Feb 12 and return Feb 19. I will be in Mexico again, this time Mexico City. But, I normally have quite good email access there, so we should be able to continue to correspond nearly as usual. Since we won't be able to meet that week, I'd ask that you send me an update on the day that we normally have our individual meeting that describes your current progress and raises any questions that you might have encountered. Then we'll resume our normal schedule of meetings the week of Feb 21. If you are curious about the conference I am attending, you can get quite a bit of information here (http://www.cicling.org/2005). It seems that my talk is on Tuesday morning, which is good. I prefer morning talks early in a conference week - the audience tends to be a bit more alert than later in the day or later in the conference. :) Finally, remember that for the group meeting of Feb 28 you are to have read the paper by McCarthy, et. al. In some respects it represents a merging of WordNet::Similarity with approaches like SenseClusters/Google-Hack, so it somehow touches on issues that all of us are working on.
