As many of you have heard, it was a tough year at ACL. In the main conference of ACL, there was an 18% acceptance rate, and sadly we had a few things that were in the 82% rejection pile. :)
But, I am very happy to report that we had good success with the poster / demo session, which had an overall acceptance rate of 55%. Sid (maybe Bano too?) will be doing a demo of SenseRelate::TargetWord, and Anagha will be doing a demo of SenseClusters. These will take place on Sunday June 26, and if you are in Ann Arbor for ACL I do hope you stop by. We don't have scheduling details beyond the date worked out, but we should know shortly. In addition, Anagha will be doing a poster presentation during the Student Research Workshop, which had a rather blistering 39% acceptance rate. This will occur on Monday June 27, time to be determined. Below are the references to the resulting publications, which you can find in camera ready form on my web page or at the link given below: http://www.d.umn.edu/~tpederse/pubs.html # Unsupervised Discrimination and Labeling of Ambiguous Names (Kulkarni) - Appears in the Proceedings of the Student Research Workshop of the 43rd Annual Meeting of the Association for Computational Linguistics.
