We are pleased to announce the release of the WSD Shell version 0.04. You can find a very modest home page for the package at:
http://www.d.umn.edu/~tpederse/wsdshell.html This package is intended to be the successor to the Duluth-Shell, which we have used in our Senseval-2 and Senseval-3 experiments. It is a much easier to use package since it is largely based on Perl rather than my notorious C shell scripts. It also has some really great reporting features available that make it much easier to analyze experiments. Mahesh developed this tool and has run a large number of experiments on the NLM data using this tool, and I have found it to be a much nicer way deal with such experiments. You can find a paper that is now in review on Mahesh's home page that was done using the WSD Shell. "A Comparative Study of Support Vector Machines Applied to the Supervised Word Sense Disambiguation Problem in the Medical Domain" is currently under review. It is available in pdf format from : http://www.d.umn.edu/~joshi031/files/joshi-pedersen-wsd.pdf The WSD Shell is a nice tool, and makes it very easy to run WSD experiments using Weka, NSP, and SenseTools.
