Thanks Bridget, This is very helpful of you, and much appreciated. I may in fact accept your offer of a tour one day - I have not had one myself, and would be interested to see things in a more guided or structured way than my usual wanderings around the Twin Cities.
I even have more questions - perhaps I need to go back to school?? I would find it interesting to find out which classes you have taken since arriving in the Twin Cities. What were they, and how many more do you have to take before satisfying the course requirements there? Did you have any trouble getting credit for things you took at UMD, and did you have a lot of choice in the classes you took? Also, I know you just took (or will take) a big exam, so perhaps you could mention what that was, how you prepared for it, and what it means when you (as you surely will) pass. I know it might seem weird to do this on our list, but I am sure that your experience has been in some way "typical" so it might provide a reasonable idea in terms of coursework what other UMD students could expect.
