I have recently obtained funding for us to have another CD distribution
next summer (2006) at conferences and similar events. This time we have
enough money for 750 CDs, which represents an increase over the 500 we
distributed in the summer of 2005 at ACL, AAAI, and EuroLAN.

We won't start thinking about creating these CDs until next spring, but,
I wanted to mention it all the same, just to let you know that I am
determined to get your code into the hands of users, no matter what it
takes. :)

Also, I would like to have some discussion of the following idea - I am
considering creating a "live" CD, some call this a Knoppix style CD, which
lets users boot the CD and get into a linux system that already has
all of our fine code installed, and a user can run immediately, even if
they don't have a Linux system available (you can run the Knoppix Cds from
a Windows machine, for example). My thinking is that if a user likes the
"live CD" version of our code, then they can go to our website, CPAN,
sourceforge, etc. to download and install.

So, I would welcome any opinions or guidance on the Knoppix idea. General
info about Knoppix can be found here:

Thanks,
Ted
