Greetings all, and hello from Washington, DC! I am here for AMIA, which I am sure you will hear more about in other posts. But, for now I just want to share something I discovered during some down time here...
I found a very nice web interface for a word sense disambiguation known as SSI. http://lcl.di.uniroma1.it/ SSI reminds me very much of SenseRelate, that is you give it some words. For example, try the classic lesk example of: pine cone ice cream You will see a nice graph that shows how the underlying concepts are connected in WordNet. It's nice, and perhaps more importantly sort of fun. You are required to register, but it's a simple process. So, give this a try sometime, especially if you are interested in word sense disambiguation, especially with SenseRelate style methods.
