I am forwarding the following as it mentions getting feedback from
students, so if you look at this and have any comments to make, please
feel free to direct those to me or directly to the authors.

Enjoy,
Ted

=======================

This note is to let you know that, thanks to much advice and great
comments
from many of you over the last few years, we have finally put up a good
chunk of the 2nd edition of "Speech and Language Processing" on our
website at:

http://www.cs.colorado.edu/~martin/slp2.html

You will see that the new chapters have a very significant amount of
new material, although we are still working on filling in many missing
sections in these drafts as well as the chapters not yet on the web.

We are expecting to send the book to the publishers in January or so,
for a July appearance in bookstores. Thus this fall term
is the last time to get comments, feedback, bug fixes, and so on
from you all who are teaching with the book (whether as a primary
text or just using selected chapters), and from your students!

So we would really appreciate any bugs/comments/feedback you can
give us this fall!

Again, thanks to the many of you who have helped so much
already and thanks in advance for any more advice you can offer!

Dan and Jim
