Greetings. I've been lurking on this list for a couple of months. Wanted to make you all aware of a NLP reading group forming: http://groups.google.com/group/NLP-reading
I heard about it via the Lucene list, and apparently it's swelled in membership in just the last couple of days. A bit about me: I have been working on IR projects for the last 7 years, mostly in the open source community. I just finished a two-year stint as the Unix systems programmer at the Minnesota Supercomputing Institute, which is how I became aware of this group. I'm an avid Perl hacker (see uid 'karman' on CPAN) and participate in a couple different IR projects, including Swish3, a C-based library for parsing text. cheers, pek -- Peter Karman . http://peknet.com/ .
